Robyn Rihanna popularly known as Rihanna in Barbados, is an Barbadian musician and singer who has given us hits songs like Pon de Replay Umbrella SOS and Take a Bow. She's a hugely popular performer who has sold over 41 million albums around the world and more than 150 million songs. Barbados-born, she learned to love reggae and started singing as a child. Afraid of her chaotic family life and endless arguments with her parents, she absorbed her self in music. She before long realized that she wanted to become a professional singer. In her teens, she joined a musical group. Evan Rodgers auditioned her and was extremely impressed. The producer asked her to make the move to New York in order to take on a full-time job in the field of singing, which she gladly did. Rihanna rapidly became a household name following her first release. Young people were captivated by her songs with a catchy sound which had them on their feet.
